One of the fun parts of the specialty rental business is when we just happen upon a piece that we know will be special! While antiquing at the beginning of Sweet Everlasting Rentals, we came across an amazing, very old, glass display case. It had a wavy glass with black molding and sliding mirrored doors on the back which were trimmed in the original wood. As we ooh-ed and ahh-ed over this piece, the creative juices kicked in and we decided that somehow we would turn this piece into a bar!
After building its base, this piece has been one of our most beloved pieces, because it offers our clients something that is vintage, but classy. It can be used as a statement piece that is sure to draw your guests to whatever it is you are wanting to share with them for your special event. Displaying beverage options and providing a cheese and cracker station is a great way to host a private party!
Here the bride used the top to share, not only bar options but signage about their wedding hashtag and seating arrangements for the reception. The sliding doors on the back were left open to show the wine glasses on the broad table that holds the display case. Inside she put small silver vintage goblets with rose buds in her wedding colors. The mirrors on the back of the sliding doors magnify whatever you put inside and naturally fill the inside space!
One event planner decided to use our unique bar at a retirement party to display photos and other memorabilia about the man of honor.
We love seeing all of the ways people have used this unique, beautiful, and versatile piece over the years and we would love to hear your ideas on how you would use our vintage black bar! Don’t let the title of “bar” get you sidetracked! No matter the event, this piece will be the one guests will continue to talk about.
